HCN Home Care Package Fees and Charges
HCN offers home care services to both approved home care package recipients and to private clients. If you are on a waiting list for a home care package you may choose to pay for home care services as a private client until you receive confirmation that your package is available to take up.
Home Care Package recipients: eligible individuals who have received an approved Home Care Package level 1 to 4 from The Australian Government. Our Service areas include:
- Newcastle
- Lake Macquarie
- Maitland
- Cessnock
- Port Stephens
Funding and Fees:
- Home Care Packages are subsidised by the Australian Government
- You may be asked to pay an income-tested care fee towards your care which is determined by The Department of Human Services
- The home care provider may ask you to pay a basic daily care fee or additional fees for services not covered by your home care package
- Administration, case management and exit fees may be applied to your package by the home care provider
- When you contact HCN we will provide you with a full list of all our fees and charges, so you can decide if our services are right for you.

Note: Additional travel charges may apply for areas outside of the above service areas. Personal Care & Household Services Includes: cleaning, shopping, meal preparation, transport and assistance with daily activities. Clinical Care and Wellbeing Support: Registered Nurse care (wound care, diabetes management, medications, care plan development and dementia support), Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology care.

Note: * HCN does not apply a daily care fee if the consumer is receiving an Aged Pension. ** KM fee applies where one of our staff has to travel over 20km from our office in Tomago NSW to your residence. Only KM above 20km are charged going to or returning from your residence. KM charges also applies for all transport or shopping services where we take you or undertake these task on your behalf. Home Care Nursing will provide you with a written quote outlining all agreed fees and charges that will be associated with your care under your Home Care Package.
